Gypsy Heart (Dora)

Someone out there would like a 4 year old "snowflake" Appy mare, right? She is green and has some trust issues. Her weight is good and she is easy to work around. My 4 YO granddaughter called her "Dora the Explorer" when she ran off the day after arriving here from Camelot. The ABR community voted to name her "Gypsy Heart". She responds best to "time to eat!" Will waive an adoption fee for a donation of hay, even a small one.

Dunny is getting a new home

Dunny is getting a new home in the Clarion area of PA along with my moms yearling appaloosa cross filly. Her filly had a scratch or something on her jaw line which we are treating and soon as its healed they are leaving to their new home. Dunny is my last rescue to place in a new home. I cannot afford any new rescues at all until i figure out my private horses i am keeping for myself and the kids to learn to ride on. Plus i am still looking for a new job as i quit mine so hopefully i get hired…See More

FORUM RULES

THIS FORUM IS FOR THOSE WHO SHARE OUR BELIEFS IN HELPING HORSES IN NEED AND HORSES DESTINED FOR SLAUGHTER.

PLEASE KEEP THINGS FRIENDLY! WE ARE ALL HERE TO LEARN NEW HELPFUL THINGS THAT PERTAIN TO HORSES AND TO HAVE QUESTIONS ANSWERED IN A HELPFUL MANNER.

THOSE THAT WISH TO ATTACK OUR MEMBERS WILL HAVE THEIR ACCOUNT SUSPENDED!

WHO WE ARE .... WHAT WE DO

Back in the Saddle Horse Adoption, Inc (BITS) is an all volunteer 501 (c) (3) non profit organization dedicated to helping horses in need and horses destined for slaughter. Horses enter our program through donation, private rescue, through auctions or pulled from kill pens.

We firmly believe every horse brought into this world deserves a chance! The majority of times it is human error that has made a bad horse. Horses that enter our program are rehabilitated, evaluated for suitability/soundness and temperament. They are then retrained into a career best suited for them and are adopted into new homes. We have successfully placed hundreds of horses into their new forever homes!

Auctions we frequent are:
Penns Valley Livestock - Centre Hall, PA (last Friday month)
Middleburg Livestock Auction - Middleburg, PA (last Saturday month)
Sugar Creek Livestock Auction - Sugar Creek, OH (every Friday)
New Holland Livestock Auction - New Holland, PA (every Monday)

Thank you for supporting our organization and helping the horses in our care! For more information, please visit our website - be sure to stop by our "Ways To Help" link and "Wish List" link.

Beautiful Bride

BB now has a home!! One of my 4-H kids is adopting her, and she will be used on the 4-H Drill Team, as well as a project horse. Now, if only someone would come for Western Express. He is 5 and ready to go to a forever home! Still needs some groceries, but will waive his adoption fees so I can make room for others.
